No matter of the complexity of the project NC drill file can be created. For this purpose the fabrication drawing is used. The NC drill file is needed to run various checks. It is very important step of the production of the board. 
Also at the end the routing program is created so that the routing machine can rout the boards on individual pieces or arrays.
