INSPECTION DRC (DESIGN RULE CHECKS)
Some of the checks performed are the Design Rule Checks (DRC)
This procedure is done on a single board and also against panalized array. All of these checks are done to avoid design errors that may cause board scrap. Some of the DRC violation, checks are;
• Minimum width of trace.
• Minimum air gap.
• Open trace or hanging traces.
• Power to ground short detection.
• Annular ring verification.
• SMT pitch distance.
• Missing holes.
• Exposed copper on forbidden areas.
• Exposed Traces.
In general your board gets inspected 100 %, in accordance with the blue print (fabrication drawing) !At the end of each finished job, manufacturability form with complete information about the PCB is sent to the customer. This is done just to make sure that the customer will have all the needed data to produce the board with no problems.
